Contractor Insight Spurs Co-Development of New Drywall Framing System
COLUMBUS, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 17, 2009--
Leading steel framing manufacturers, Dietrich Metal Framing, a
Worthington Industries company (NYSE:WOR), and ClarkWestern Building
Systems, today announced the new ProSTUD™ Drywall Framing System. To
meet the needs of today’s steel framing applications, engineers from the
two companies are co-developing the ProSTUD™ Drywall Framing
System, the industry’s next generation of drywall framing technology.
The patent pending ProSTUD Drywall Framing System combines innovative
design with high-strength steel to set a new industry benchmark for
high-performance drywall framing. The components in the system are
lightweight and feature a number of technological advances to enhance
stiffness. ProSTUD has also been extensively field-tested for quality
and ease of installation.
“The performance benefits of the ProSTUD system are truly unmatched in
the market today,” said John Roberts, president of Dietrich Metal
Framing. “Not only is ProSTUD easy to handle and install, it is a more
efficient alternative to conventional framing as it requires less steel,
which benefits contractors, architects and building owners.”
“ProSTUD is an industry-changing product designed with the contractor in
mind,” said Bill Courtney, president and CEO of ClarkWestern Building
Systems. “Through creative efforts like this, we will continue to raise
the bar in innovation to provide our customers with the most efficient
and cost-effective steel framing products.”
While Dietrich Metal Framing and ClarkWestern Building Systems are
co-developing the ProSTUD Drywall Framing System, they will be
independently selling ProSTUD products. The first manufacturing facility
conversions for ProSTUD Drywall Framing System will take place in the
fourth quarter of 2009. For more information and an up-to-date launch
